On 6th November, Hydroblast successfully completed a specialist line removal project in Barnard Castle, North Yorkshire, removing an existing zebra crossing as part of planned works.
The works were carried out using our Aqua 14 ultra-high pressure water jetting unit, operating at up to 2,600 bar, allowing for the precise removal of road markings without damaging the underlying surface. This method is particularly effective for sensitive or high-use areas where surface integrity must be maintained.

By using ultra high pressure water jetting, we were able to deliver a clean, uniform finish while avoiding the risks associated with mechanical scabbling or aggressive chemical removal methods. The result was a fully removed crossing, ready for the next phase of works, with minimal disruption and no surface compromise.
Hydroblast regularly undertakes line removal and road marking removal projects for local authorities, contractors and infrastructure clients across the UK.
Our approach prioritises safety, accuracy and surface preservation, making water jetting an ideal solution for highways, car parks, depots and
public environments.
