Hydroblast recently delivered a highly efficient line removal project, successfully clearing over 1,000 linear metres of various markings from a concrete surface. Completed on 17th December 2025, the works highlight the effectiveness of ultra high-pressure (UHP) water jetting in live site environments where coordination, precision and timing are critical.
The project required the mobilisation of two UHP units, alongside the supply of 13,000 litres of water to ensure consistent performance throughout the operation. Using advanced water jetting technology, Hydroblast was able to remove a range of line markings cleanly and effectively, without causing any damage to the underlying concrete substrate. This is a key advantage of water jetting when compared to more aggressive mechanical or chemical methods, which can often leave surfaces compromised or uneven.
Operating on an active site always brings additional challenges, particularly when multiple trades are working simultaneously. On this project, Hydroblast worked carefully alongside other contractors, ensuring that the line removal process was completed safely and without disruption to surrounding activities. Close coordination and clear communication allowed the team to integrate seamlessly into the wider programme, maintaining productivity across all areas of the site.
The use of UHP water jetting meant that line markings could be removed with a high level of accuracy, leaving a clean surface ready for re-marking or further works. Whether dealing with road markings, safety lines or industrial layout indicators, Hydroblast’s approach ensures that all residues are fully removed, reducing the risk of ghosting or surface inconsistencies. This is particularly important for projects where new coatings or markings need to adhere properly to the substrate.
In addition to delivering excellent technical results, Hydroblast maintained its strong focus on health, safety and environmental responsibility throughout the project. Water jetting significantly reduces the need for harsh chemicals and minimises airborne dust, creating a safer working environment for both operatives and other trades on site. The controlled use of water also ensures that waste is managed effectively, aligning with current environmental standards.
The success of the project is best reflected in the client’s feedback, who described the outcome as a “perfect job done”. This endorsement underlines Hydroblast’s commitment to delivering high-quality results, even in complex and fast-moving site conditions.
This latest line removal project demonstrates Hydroblast’s capability to handle large-scale surface preparation works with precision and efficiency. By combining industry-leading equipment with experienced operatives, the team continues to provide reliable solutions across a wide range of sectors.
For clients requiring fast, effective and non-destructive line removal, Hydroblast offers a proven service that delivers results without compromise.
