Hydroblast has successfully completed a specialist tank cleaning project in the North East, showcasing the efficiency, safety and precision that high-pressure water jetting brings to industrial environments. Completed between 10th and 13th March 2026, the works involved the full internal cleaning of two industrial tanks, with all waste safely managed and removed from site in line with current regulations.
For this project, Hydroblast deployed its high-performance Hammelmann Aqua 20 system, operating at 1400 bar and 78 litres per minute. This level of pressure and flow delivers a powerful yet controlled cleaning process, capable of removing stubborn residues, build-up and contamination from internal tank surfaces.
To maximise cleaning effectiveness, the team also utilised a StoneAge Torus nozzle. This specialist nozzle is designed to provide consistent, high-impact cleaning across internal surfaces, ensuring that even difficult-to-reach areas are thoroughly treated. The combination of advanced equipment and experienced operatives allowed Hydroblast to deliver a comprehensive clean within a tight timeframe.
Tank cleaning is often carried out in challenging environments, where safety, planning and execution are critical. Hydroblast adopts a safety-first approach on every project, ensuring that risks are minimised and works are completed efficiently.
By using controlled water jetting methods, the team can remove deposits without causing damage to the tank structure. This is particularly important when working with steel or lined tanks, where maintaining the integrity of the asset is essential. The process also eliminates the need for abrasive materials, reducing secondary waste and improving overall site cleanliness.
Where possible, Hydroblast prioritises remote cleaning techniques to reduce the need for man entry. When confined space entry is required, all works are carried out under strict procedures, with fully trained operatives and appropriate safety controls in place.
A key part of this project was the management and disposal of waste generated during the cleaning process. Hydroblast ensured that all removed materials were safely collected, handled and transported off site to appropriate disposal facilities.
This end-to-end approach gives clients confidence that environmental responsibilities are being met, with full compliance to current legislation. Proper waste management not only protects the environment but also helps maintain safe and organised working conditions on site.
The successful cleaning of these two tanks highlights Hydroblast’s ability to deliver reliable, high-quality results across a range of industrial applications. By combining advanced water jetting technology with skilled operatives and a strong focus on safety, the company continues to support clients with efficient and effective solutions.
Whether it is routine maintenance or more complex cleaning requirements, Hydroblast provides a professional service that minimises downtime, protects assets and ensures sites are returned to optimal condition.
This latest project in the North East reinforces Hydroblast’s reputation as a trusted provider of industrial tank cleaning services, capable of handling demanding environments while maintaining the highest standards of performance and compliance.
