Concrete Scabbling

What is Concrete Scabbling

Scabbling or Scappling is a technique used to roughen up surfaces or reduce concrete levels by removing a thin layer of top latency. Scabbling is typically completed with pressurised air equipment. However, with Water Jet Scabbling this effect is created using specialist equipment that applies highly pressurised water to the targeted concrete. Scabbling can be used to prepare areas for repair, create more grip by roughing up surfaces, decorative effects and much more.

Benefits of Concrete Scabbling

Precision Concrete Removal

Water Jet Scabbling removes concrete accurately without damaging surrounding or underlying structures.

Safer Working Environments

The use of water significantly reduces airborne dust and minimises exposure to harmful silica particles.

Minimal Structural Stress

Unlike mechanical methods, Water Jetting does not create vibration, reducing the risk of cracking or structural damage.

Faster Project Turnarounds

High-efficiency equipment enables quicker surface preparation, helping projects stay on schedule with minimal disruption.

Restoring Road Safety

Roads can lose their anti-skid properties over time, leading to dangerous surfaces. Our high-pressure water jetting equipment restores roads to a safe, practical surface without inflicting unwanted damage.

By using powerful jets of UHP water, we blast away the ‘tar binder’ from the surface, restoring the clean, anti-skid texture. This method requires far less maintenance than alternatives, cutting down on unnecessary expenditure and road downtime.
